Adidas Originals has introduced a brand-new collection of NFT crypto wearables under the "virtual gear" umbrella
For owners of the Phase 2 Capsule NFT, the teaser campaign has begun on the adidas Discord server
The virtual accessories may be worn by virtual avatars using the PFP dressing tool and are interoperable with other identity-based projects and environments
A small selection of blockchain-based "virtual gear" wearables from Adidas Originals have been presented; these Non Fungible Tokens will be sold on the Adidas metaverse. The designs in the collection, which features eight forms with 16 different iterations, are a glimpse into an unheard-of future. The introduction of Adidas' first NFT line of wearables, a brand-new category of virtual goods that is open to interoperability, advances the company's attempts to further its community-based, member-first metaverse vision.
The virtual collection was unveiled after a teaser campaign with the Adidas Discord group, and it is currently available in the wallets of current owners of Phase 2 Capsule NFT.
The 16-piece collection unites the past and present, virtual and physical aspects, communities and artists, culture and identity, and marks a pivotal creative and cultural moment in the brand's history.
Erika Wykes-Sneyd, Vice President of the Adidas studio (Three Stripes Studio), discussed the debut and remarked that this collection represents a more engaged community of owners. She continued, saying:
“Adidas will investigate every practical utility, platform, and experience inside Web3 to unlock new possibilities for our wearables, with an emphasis on concrete value and immutable usefulness for our community members. Adidas will do this with our community and creative ecosystem at the heart. No matter what, Adidas is always associated with the trailblazers. At this point, in whatsoever worlds they chose to live in.”
Every item in the most recent NFT market offering may be worn by virtual avatars using the PFP dressing tool and is interoperable with other identity-based projects and environments. The virtual equipment can adjust to different metaverse situations and react to them. The collection itself has several dynamic elements that give it a futuristic appearance. Additionally, Adidas showcased its inventiveness by drawing inspiration from the dynamic metaverse realms. The equipment was labeled with titles like "Space Crystal," "P.F.D. - Personal Flotation Device," and "WallRunner."
As an homage to Adidas' first Web3 partners, the line features three limited edition creator-led wearables. The creativity of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Gmoney, and Punks Comics is evident in each.
