Following the formation of a Web3 team within the Google Cloud, the tech giant is now looking for a full-time candidate to oversee its global Web3 marketing initiatives.
"Google Cloud is launching a Web3 product and engineering division that will provide services for developers," said Jordan Novet in a Tweet. Google's internal Grow tool now has new job posts."
A Head of Product Marketing role is open at Google Cloud, per the job announcement. The person who takes up the position will oversee raising awareness of Google Cloud's Web3 initiatives and generating demand from clients for the pertinent services.
Leading market activities, such as generating yearly plans for Web3 and raising awareness across various groups of the Web3 audience, will be among the additional tasks of the new job.
Just prior to the team's launch, Amit Zavery, vice president of Google Cloud, shared his vision for Web3 with the team's members in an email. He concluded by saying that "Although Web3 adoption is still in its infancy worldwide, many companies have asked us to enhance our support for Web3 and crypto-related technologies since it is a market with huge potential."
Only New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Sunnyvale will be able to apply for the new position. This is the first time Google has attempted to explore its Web3 concepts.
In other developments, during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2022, Gavin Wood, the designer of Polkadot (DOT), showed his personal enthusiasm for Web3. Web3 pouches the conversation beyond Bitcoin trading and smart contracts, he feels, into the fundamental technology that drives the crypto world.
