Lucid Sight to Bring Star Trek to Blockchain

By Tyler Smith – Cryptocurrency Investor

Lucid Sight, a blockchain game developer, is collaborating with media firm CBS Interactive in order to bring a game based on “Star Trek” and its collectibles to the blockchain, as stated through Coindesk’s news site. Users could potentially sell Ethereum for these collectibles.

This news comes after the game developer signs a deal with CBS, thus allowing the former to introduce a game based on the iconic TV and film series through CSC sometime this year.

CSC players can temporarily buy Star-Trek starships, including the U.S.S. Enterprise, that will be sold off as unique collectibles.

Fazri Zubair, CTO and co-founder of Lucid Sight, said, “‘Star Trek’ inspired me at a young age to pursue a career in technology”

Players will be able to sell starships in exchange for acquiring tokens on the ethereum blockchain and will be numbered uniquely, based on the order of creation. In turn, users can cash out crypto to fiat using a brokerage such as ourselves.

Players will also be able to use collectible items in the game’s universe using the ERC-721 standard, where unique tokens can be created, so that they can be traded within or outside the game in third-party marketplaces like Open Sea, a marketplace for crypto collectibles.

In other news, Star Trek legend William Shatner had announced just last month that he would be teaming up with legaltech firm Mattereum, which is led by former launch coordinator of ethereum, Vinay Gupta.
