According to the Korea Herald, Refik Anadol, a Turkish-American artist, sold his AI-based NFT Crypto collection at auction for $6.2 million.

The limited-edition NFT collection, dubbed "An Important Memory for Humanity," features data visualizations from the first civilian spaceflight. "The collection features a variety of one-of-a-kind and lyrical data sculptures and paintings inspired by the Inspiration4 objective."

The artist and LG Display worked together to create the collection, using the latter's OLED panels as the artwork's canvas. The digital artwork, according to Anadol, was created using artificial intelligence, and LG Display's OLED screens made it possible to present video, audio, ultrasound, and health data from the spaceship in an easy-to-understand manner. OLED displays, he said, are an "exciting medium and are perfect for displaying data paintings and data sculptures."

Meanwhile, the relatively young Non Fungible Tokens artist just sold "Living Architecture," another NFT sculpture, for $1.38 million. Christie's auctioned off the aforementioned item earlier this month.

Many digital artists have flocked to the space after Beeple sold his NFT Market collection for $69.3 million in March 2021 to express and market their creative work.
