A well-known Bitcoin (BTC) ATM operator has officially revealed their latest plans to expand their products into Circle K outlets in the United States and Canada.
Bitcoin Depot has now revealed that over 700 of its Bitcoin ATMs are now officially available to use at Circle K convenience stores in 30 U.S. states. According to the crypto ATM organisation, the project could bring financial access tools to underprivileged communities while attracting more people to the crypto industry.
The scheme aims to address the high-street process to buy crypto with credit card and debit, to offer customers a convenient in-store method of purchasing cryptocurrencies. Alona Lubovnaya, the director at Bitcoin Depot, stated that "ATMs being located in Circle K's provide an easy onramp for the underbanked and less affluent, not just someone with a wealth manager."
The company reportedly has more than 3,500 cryptocurrency ATMs currently in service across the United States and Canada. The ATMs allow customers to buy cryptocurrency with more than 30 different types of crypto coins available such as Bitcoin, Litecoin (LTC), and Ether (ETH).
Circle K'sK's Canadian operator, Alimentation Couche-Tard, reports that its brand operates around 7,150 stores in the United States and 2,111 in Canada.
Last year, Bitcoin Depot revealed a limiting service to select machines in high-risk zones amid the continuing pandemic. Even with the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the United States, Bitcoin Depot announced that service is restored to all sites.
The number of crypto ATMs worldwide that allow users to exchange fiat currency to cryptocurrency has increased dramatically in recent years.
