With a single tweet, Elon Musk rejects rumors on plans for using the Ethereum Blockchain

By Tyler Smith – Cryptocurrency Investor

Rumors were going around that the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, was building something big using the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency according to the market capitalization, a platform for developer to create their own tokens or blockchains.

However, very recently Elon Musk addressed his stance by revealing that he is not using the Ethereum network to build anything. Musk's tweet was a reply to popular Hollywood actor William Shatner’s tweet. Last year, Shatner claimed that the CEO of Tesla and the co-founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin, were in talks to discuss what to build on Ethereum. Statements from Musk in the past have moved markets as with the share prices of Tesla, so this could have been interesting news to people who buy and sell crypto, especially people who buy and sell Ethereum.

The Canadian actor has been a cryptocurrency advocate for a long time now. It has been almost a year since he tweeted about Musk and Buterin, but now almost a year later Elon Musk has something to say.

It took Musk just a single tweet to reveal that he is not working to build anything on the Ethereum blockchain. He continued by saying that he is neither for nor against it. Shatner later replied to the CEO of SpaceX stating that he still loves Musk even though he has not found blockchain technology very fascinating.

Musk has been able to capture everyone’s attention before when he made some comments sharing his views regarding cryptocurrency. On several occasions Musk has teased the crypto community by tweeting about Bitcoin or Dogecoin (DOGE). Earlier this year, the CEO of Tesla said that cryptocurrency has the potential to replace cash.

In a nutshell, Musk is not against blockchain technology and even thinks that cryptocurrency could replace cash. However, at this moment he has other important stuff to take care of rather than building something on Ethereum.
