What is Gifto (GTO)?

"Virtual gifting protocol for an open world."

One of the first application tokens introduced in 2017 is called Gifto. Since its first introduction on the Binance launchpad, several breakthroughs have been made, including the largest crypto wallet for mass market adoption, the blockchain game with the most user engagement, and other consumer applications. Global participants from the technical, business, community, and operations sectors worked together to create the Gifto Chain and Wallet.

Through an initial token offering that issued around 300 million tokens in December 2017, GIFTO was able to raise about $30 million. The first virtual gift standard in the world, supporting Christmas cards, augmented reality collectibles, awards for loyalty, and more.

Virtual gift designers will first design and produce virtual goods (an ERC-721 compliant token). Second, gifts will be reviewed and approved by curators, who will make sure they adhere to the protocol's guidelines and copyright laws. Third, content producers will compile a list of presents that are acceptable for fans to send to them. Fourth, followers buy GIFTO tokens on cryptocurrency exchanges or from specialized wallets like the Uplive GIFTO wallet. Fifth, fans can use their GIFTO tokens to buy virtual gifts and send them to their preferred content producers.

The ERC-20-compliant GIFTO tokens can be used to buy virtual presents. The team wants virtual presents to be fully functional smart contracts that comply with ERC-721 standards.

Roadmap

Gifto wants to establish itself as the greatest marketplace for valuable and timeless virtual presents. Any asset can be swapped for any token using the Gifto Chain and Wallet.

Gifto Chain will distribute AR gift-creation and usage SDKs as augmented reality (AR) gains popularity. These SDKs will allow users to bring their gifts into any actual area, pose for pictures or videos with them, or simply enjoy them.

Due to the use of on-chain hashes, Gifto Chain token specifications can be updated without altering the fundamental chain technology. So, because Gifto offers a fee-for-usage option, token creators can effectively "license" the use of their media on Gifto Chain by including things like films, songs, etc. in their tokens.
