Official website: https://ont.io/

What is Ontology?

Ontology is an open-source, a high-performance blockchain that specialises in digital identity and data. The exclusive infrastructure of Ontology maintains robust cross-chain collaboration and Layer 2 scalability. This will offer businesses the suppleness to design a blockchain that will match their needs. Ontology operates a suite of decentralized identity and data sharing protocols to improve speed, security, and trust. Ontology’s features incorporate ONT ID, a mobile digital ID application and DID used throughout the ecosystem, and DDXF, a decentralized data exchange, and collaboration framework.

Ontology has a variety of real-life use cases while also allowing businesses to develop their own blockchain on top of the Ontology blockchain. Crucially, Ontology offers additional flexibility for companies. This in turn allows them to create customized blockchains to fit their specific needs in terms of features like governance and enhanced privacy, functionality that rivals like Ethereum and NEO are lacking by design. The ONT chain also helps nullify transaction network fees through the generation and distributing of free Ontology Gas (ONG) to ONT holders based on their holdings.

Team

The Ontology project was formed by Li Jun, Founder of Ontology. During its early stages of growth, Ontology obtained technical support from various members of Onchain’s developer team. Nevertheless, the two have continuously been separate projects officially pursuing their own goals.

Jun Li is the founder of Ontology. He is held in high regards within the blockchain community as he has over 17 years’ worth of experience within IT and FinTech. Andy J is the co-founder of Ontology. At the moment he serves as the deputy secretary-general of China’s ministry of industry and information technology’s blockchain technology and industrial development forum.
