Step 1: The first step in setting up an Atomic Wallet is to download it. This can and should only be done via their official website here: https://atomicwallet.io/

You will need to click the download button on the top right of the page. A new window will appear for you to select the relevant operating system to suit your device. This will begin the installation.

Step 2: Once installed, you can open the wallet and begin the set-up process. You will have two options at this stage: Create a new wallet or restore an old wallet. If this is your first Atomic Wallet then you will need to click ‘New Wallet’. ‘Restore from backup’ will only be relevant if you have an existing Atomic Wallet that you need to regain access to.

Step 3: Creating a password is the next step in setting up your wallet.

Step 4: Setting up your 12-word back up phrase is one of the most important security procedures you will need to complete when setting your wallet up. It is the recovery information that will allow you to access the coins in your wallet from another device. This is important as it protects you from losing all your assets should your device be lost or damaged. Write down the phrases in the order that they are displayed, ensuring you keep a hard-copy version in a safe place. It is recommended that you use pen and paper for this step.

Step 5: Once the recovery information has been set up, you will have full access to your device. The home screen will show your wallet portfolio displaying all coins you have enabled. It will show the balance of the coin amount, and an estimation of its value in fiat based on an average live market rate. The currency that this is displayed in can be modified.

Step 6: Clicking on the coin of your choice will take you to its page. Here you can view the balance and price charts for the selected coin. More importantly, this is where you can send and receive the selected coin.

Clicking on receive will display your deposit wallet address for the selected coin. You will need to provide this to whoever is sending you cryptocurrency.

Clicking on the ‘Send’ option will allow you to send the selected coin from your Atomic wallet. You will need to paste the receiving address and amount of coin you want to send. Always copy and paste the addresses as typing it out may lead to a mistake and loss of funds.

The fees can also be adjusted in Atomic wallet for certain coins, cheaper fees will take longer. Too low of a fee may even result in the coins being returned.

Multiple coins can be enabled if they have not been already. You can enable new assets by clicking the slider icon in the top right. It will then take you to the page with all the supported coins. If you wish to enable a coin, click the coin you wish to enable and then click apply in the top right. Once completed, you will then be able to return to the main wallet page and access all sending and receiving features.
