What Is SingularityNET (AGIX)?

Thanks to its globally accessible AI marketplace, SingularityNET is a blockchain-powered platform that makes it simple for anybody to "produce, share, and sell" AI services. Awakening Health, a collaborative venture between SingularityNET and Hanson Robotics that creates products that use AI for healthcare, was just announced. Grace, a humanoid assistant for the healthcare sector, is its initial offering.

In circulation as of February 2021 were 861.5 million AGIX tokens, or 86% of the total supply. As a result, AGIX can be seen as significantly diluted. During SingularityNET's 2017 initial coin offering (ICO), half (50%) of the total AGIX supply was sold. Beyond this, 20% was set aside for incentives for early partners and developers, 18% for the core team members (who are already fully vested), 8% for the SingularityNET foundation to further the platform's long-term development, and the final 4% for security bounties.

An ERC-20 token is AGIX. The Ethereum proof-of-work (PoW) consensus method and its tried-and-true network of tens of thousands of nodes and miners serve as its foundation, ensuring its security. One of the most secure networks currently in use, the Ethereum network has never been successfully attacked to date. The team behind SingularityNET recently revealed it was looking into the prospect of launching on the delegated proof-of-stake (dPoS) Cardano blockchain, hinting that SingularityNET may switch to another blockchain in the future.

Dr. Ben Goertzel is a well-known name in the robotics and AI fields and has a long, illustrious history of collaboration with leading technological firms, such as Hanson Robotics and the OpenCog Foundation. In addition, he serves as vice chairman for Humanity+ and chief scientist for Mozi Health.

Entrepreneur and investor Simone Giacomelli was formerly employed by the cryptocurrency advisory firm Cryptodex. He stopped working on the SingularityNET project in March 2019 and is now concentrating on the 2015-founded technology R&D lab Vulpem.

  • Dr. David Hanson Co-Founder 

The third co-founder of SingularityNET is Dr. David Hanson. He has a lengthy and diverse background in the robotics sector, having worked for Disney from 1998 to 2001 before launching many robotics firms over the past 20 years, including Human Emulation Robotics, Initiative for Awakening Machines, and Hanson Robotics.
